After getting hacked I ran Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, Windows Security's Full Scan and Offline Scan. It's possible that my PC did not fully shutdown as every time I turn it on, it jumps straight to Window's and I rarely see the motherboard "enter bios" screen unless I do a manual restart. Something I cannot figure out is how my PC was accessed though I had shut it down. I can only assume they were accessed through the Mail app/browser by the trojan. Checking my login history from my email account, there were no signs of logins from anywhere else or even at the timing of the hack. My email account was linked to the Windows Mail app and were open on my browser. The next morning I awoke to my PayPal account getting hacked, verification emails were accessed from my email and subsequently deleted. Shortly after, I received a notification from Windows Security about a Trojan, I clicked on "remove it", left it at that and shut down my PC. exe file, nothing happened and I felt abit impatient and decided to run it as administrator. I downloaded the software and followed it's instructions to disable Windows Firewall to "allow it to run properly". My PC was infected with a trojan after I downloaded a piece of free software.
